Law Squared Welcomes Exceptional New Legal Talent

Law Squared welcomed three outstanding law graduates this month with the commencement of its 2024 Graduate Program, following the success of its inaugural Graduate Program in 2023.

Pre Employment and Employment Table

Graduate Lawyers Antonia Seriatos, Norm Afif and Sarah Cooney

Law graduates, Antonia Seriatos, Norm Afif and Sarah Cooney, embark on their journey in the fast-growing global law firm with a dedicated Operations and Digital + Innovation on-boarding, setting the stage for rotations through the firm’s the Corporate + Commercial, Employment + Workplace Relations and Disputes + Litigation practice groups.

Director + Founder of Law Squared, Demetrio Zema, emphasises the pivotal role of graduates in the firm's future, saying: "The opportunity to grow new talent within the vision, mission and ethos of Law Squared from the beginning of their careers, will help Law Squared continue to attract and retain exceptional talent. Their fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and proficiency in digital skills will ensure Law Squared continues to evolve and provide opportunity for lawyers and all stages in their career."

A Unique Selection Process

Now in its second year, Law Squared’s program stands out for its unique selection process, eschewing traditional cover letters, CVs, and academic transcripts. Instead, applicants are required to submit creative expressions of interest reflecting their authentic selves and passion for client engagement.

"We don’t believe generic cover letters and proof of academic performance are a true reflection of the applicant’s skills and value they can contribute to Law Squared. As a firm we value authenticity, a dedication to building client relationships, and a willingness to challenge convention," says Demetrio.

Law Squared Graduates will now embark on a comprehensive 12-month placement, with PLT + Admission costs fully covered by Law Squared. Additionally, graduates benefit from an extra 10 days of paid leave to complete their PLT, ensuring appropriate time and commitment is provided to assist with a smooth transition into legal practice.

Building a Career in the Law

Amogh Kadhe, a graduate of the 2023 Graduate Program, and now permanent member of the firm's Employment + Workplace Relations team, reflects on his experience: "Law Squared's human-centred approach empowered me to focus on client outcomes rather than billable hours. The autonomy and breadth of work has provided a solid foundation for my legal career."

Expressions of Interest for the Law Squared 2025 Graduate Program will open in April 2024, welcoming applications from recent LLB and JD graduates eager to embark on a dynamic and rewarding legal career in a global leading NewLaw firm. Law Squared remains committed to fostering talent and innovation in the legal profession, shaping the future of law globally for the better.
